Hibachi Fried Rice, also know as Japanese Fried Rice is a rice stir fry where rice is cooked in a wok or a large skillet with Butter, Soy Sauce, and more ingredients. It is just like normal fried rice, just with the savory flavor from lots of butter.

The Japanese word Hibachi means “fire bowl”. Traditionally, this style of cooking refers to an open-top ceramic bowl that contains burning charcoal that is used for heating purposes. While when we are preparing it at home, all you need is a flat bottom wok.

This Fried Rice recipe uses only one sauce, which is Soy Sauce that adds a mild taste to the rice with a prominent taste from butter.

This is also a great recipe to use up your leftover rice. Actually, this dish turns out better when made with one-day-old rice. So, whenever I have some leftover rice, I quickly whip up this Hibachi Style Fried Rice.

Some people make it without adding any vegetables, but I like to add a few to make it filling and wholesome.

Rice – Use leftover cooked rice to make this recipe. If you do not have leftover rice and want to make it with fresh rice, cook it and cool it down fully before using it.

You can always keep the cooked rice in the fridge for some time, before preparing the Fried Rice recipe.

Vegetables – I have used onion, peas, carrots, but you can also add in other veggies of your choice.

Garlic – Add in finely chopped garlic in the fried rice. If you like garlicky flavor, then feel free to add in some more.

Egg – Egg is the main ingredient in this Fried Rice recipe. The egg is scrambled with the veggies before adding rice to the same.

Butter – This Fried Rice recipe gets most of its flavor from the butter and therefore a lot of butter is added to this recipe. Butter gives it a nice savory flavor, that makes it irresistible.

Soy Sauce & Toasted Sesame Oil – The only sauce used in this recipe is Soy Sauce. Along with the taste, it also adds a nice brown color in the recipe. Toasted Sesame Oil also adds a nice flavor, so do not miss out on this.

Salt & Pepper – To add a little more heat add in some pepper along with salt and give the rice a mix.

Heat a wok until it is very hot. Add butter in a wok.

Add onion and garlic and fry for a minute.

Now add peas and carrots and saute for a minute.

Add whisked eggs in the wok and scramble them.
